PEO vs Insurance

Traditionally, business owners rely on their Insurance agent to find them the best Workers Comp and Employee Benefits plans. Insurance agencies represent a wide variety of customers whose businesses are all very different. Insurance agents pair a business with a carrier. PEOs absorb businesses into their master health plan and master Workers Comp policy. This allows small to mid-size companies to achieve better pricing through economies of scale, as well as access the wealth of administration and support services offered.

Naturally, Insurance agencies and PEOs view each other as competitors for Workers Comp and Employee Benefits.   • Currently valued Workers' Compensation Loss Runs for 3-5 complete years plus present policy period.
  • Annualized Payrolls by Class Code by State as well as total payrolls by year.
  • Copy of Corporate Safety Plan
  • Acord Form

Employee Benefits

  • Copy of Employee Census, including current Plan Summary and the most recent invoice/billing reflecting current cost of plan for all group/voluntary plans.
  • If currently in a PEO relationship provide most recent invoice.
  • Copy of Retirement program plan docs.

Human Resources

  • Copy of any EEOC and/or other government agency complaints (EPL claims, if any.) Copy of EPLI policy, if coverage exists.

Payroll Administration

  • Copy of last UCT-6.
  • Copy of the SUTA tax filing for the last full quarter. Provide the current SUTA rate.
